It is possible to extend the program for 1 day, staying overnight at one of the hotels in the area selected by us.
We arrive at Cerveteri, ancient city dating back to the Etruscan -Roman times and world attraction especially for the incredible Etruscan burial ground which is one of the most important archaeological sites of the classical world . We visit the ” Necropolis of Banditaccia ” , declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2004 . Spread over 10 hectares , it consists of nearly 400 graves , which cover a period between the eighth and second century b.C. Inside some of the tombs you can see a virtual reconstruction of the sites with an innovative, unique technological experiment. Then we will stop at a winery for tasting or for lunch at a local restaurant or ” fraschetta ” (a tavern ).
In the afternoon, we arrive at CASTEL DEL SASSO – better known as ” Sasso “ – part of the municipality of Cerveteri, which preserves the structure and especially the atmosphere of an ancient village of the Middle Ages. After a short walk in the village , return to the destination.
